  5.       WHY:-   Other calenders are too big,clumsy,and expensive.
  6.  HOW MUCH:-   Free, Nothing, Nada, Zip, Zero.
  7. LIABILITY:-   None.

  9.      This is just a basic year planner for 1993, it has no fancy
  10. bells & whistles or macros attatched to it. It is just intended as
  11. a more portable alternative to the $40 planner you stick on your
  12. wall. Oh yes, you can print it too.
  13.  
  14. Hints:
  15.  
  16.   1] All of the bars, text labels & colours can be drawn using the
  17. "drawing" toolbar in Excel 4.0 .
  18.  
  19.   2] To create the bars, I suggest using the "filled box"
  20. tool,(shown on the button in the toolbar as a filled square) this
  21. enables you to stretch or shrink the bar to suit, also you can copy
  22. the bar over a series of months or drag it over if you change dates.
  23.  
  24.   3] To change colours, use the "pallette" tool in the drawing
  25. toolbar to cycle through the colors of your choice.
  26.  
  27.   4] To add a label use the "text box" button on the drawing
  28. toolbar and size it to fit, I suggest using the "small fonts" font at
  29. about 6 points. When you enter the text if it "drops off the edge"
  30. you can stretch it to suit after the text is entered so you can see
  31. it all. Again you can hold down the CTRL key and copy it to another
  32. month if needed this saves typing it out all over again. Also you can
  33. use the colour "pallette" tool to cycle through the desired
  34. background colour of the box.

  36.   5] You could get really flash and add buttons to certain days of
  37. the month to fire up macros, spreadsheets etc if you wish.
  38.  
  39.   6] I have set it up on the OPTIONS*DISPLAY menu to have the row &
  40. column headings off to give more screen to the planner, if you
  41. want to increase the row height to accomodate more bars & labels,
  42. or insert more rows to define different departments, projects etc,
  43. you would need to turn row & columns back on to increase it. 
  44. Likwise you could increase the coloumn width.
